Hey y’all! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!
So… I had mentioned on our Facebook page that we had recently updated our own family photos (Can I get an amen for self timers, remote triggers and my awesome camera savvy husband?!) I wanted to give y’all a sneak peek at the location for our Mommy & Me Mini sessions this coming weekend and tell you a little bit more about myself and my world outside of BBP.
For those of you who have already worked with me, you can vouch for me here…
For those of you who have yet to have the opportunity – my style of photography is candid, relaxed, interactive and most importantly (not forced). I want you to have fun and capture you doing so! I think it’s best to capture raw emotions and natural expressions and document one of a kind moments, however there is something to be said for making a production out of shoot with well planned themes and interesting locations. I call this “customized photography”. Each session should be unique and all your own. I take pride in helping my client’s from choosing the best location and the right attire, to how to hang their priceless photos in their home.
I am a member of the Professional Photographers of America, National Association of Photoshop Professionals, Wedding & Portrait Photographers International and Newborn Photography. I am active in all four and attend many workshops to hone my skill and better my business.
Outside of “Business”, you’ll find me mommin’ through the aisles of Target, starting and sometimes completing my many craft endeavors, enjoying all that beautiful San Diego has to offer and spending time with my husband of (nearly) 8 years (wow! where does the time go?) and our daughter (if you follow our page or Instagram, you see her gorgeous mug from time to time. Sorry, I can’t help myself) .
These two… they are my world! This little family photo session meant so much to me. I think the last time we did one, Savannah was about 5 months old! She’s now going on three! (yeah, she’s not really smiling… I mean it’s hard to get a camera with no one behind it to make a toddler smile, but we did our best). 😉Which brings me to my point…
As moms, we are often unable to justify spending money or time on ourselves. Especially when it comes to things that aren’t tangible… like photographs. If you’re anything like me, you’re always the one behind the camera in family photos, and rarely ever in them. Thanks to my amazing camera man, I was able to be.
This mini-session is specifically for moms and the people that she holds close in her heart. (that means that dads are welcome too!)
More specifically, It is for the mom that takes hundreds of great photos of her kids and partner, but only gets a few selfies with her children (show of hands here!). It’s for the mom who doubts herself and her parenting everyday. It is all about the woman who wakes late every 2 hours at night to feed her precious baby. The mother who sleeps on the edge of her bed just so she can reach her newborn in their bassinet. The mom that still goes running at 3 am when her toddler cries out. The mama who finally gets the chance to go to Target by herself and manages to leave with nothing for herself and more “things” for her children.
The mother who would give and sacrifice without question.
Capturing these moments… this stage of your life… is so important. Not only for you, the parent, the doting mother, but also for your kids who won’t have their parents forever.
Our chosen location is downright dreamy and we only have two spots left! Let’s capture these memories! For those of you that are unable to make the May 7th date, or for the husbands who may be waiting too long with no idea what to get the woman in your life for Mother’s Day (we offer gift certificates!). Send us a message!
X, J.
