As a wedding photographer here in sunny San Diego, I often find myself in the prettiest locations among the most beautiful brides. Whether a golf course, beach, vineyard, or ranch, San Diego certainly boasts a variety of venues to compliment any bride’s vision.

My first meeting with Colette & Jeff took place at the Il Fornaio Del Mar. They were planning their wedding and ceremony at the restaurant and I wanted to meet there to go over their details in person. Also, meeting at a venue gives me the opportunity to scope out lighting, space limitations for equipment and gives me an overall idea of what I should expect on their big day.

I showed early and was greeted by the sweetest hostess. I took in the gorgeous views while I awaited Colette & Jeff’s arrival. I could certainly see why they had chosen this spot for their intimate wedding. They explained that they often visited the Il Fornaio to watch the sunset and that sometimes Colette would sit up top while Jeff surfed down below. The location was special to them for many reasons. As a photographer, I didn’t know what to expect in regards to their wedding and ceremony, but their vision was brought to life in the most delightful way!

 

The details were perfect! From the beautifully arranged tablescapes, to gorgeous florals from House of Stemms and cake from the French Gourmet Bakery.

 

Details aside, let’s talk about one of the sweetest couples I’ve had the pleasure of meeting… Have you ever been in the vicinity of a couple so in love that their presence makes you feel all warm and fuzzy? Yeah… that’s Jeff & Colette.

From my first phone call with the bride to be, to our first meeting, I could feel the love they shared radiating off of them like sunshine. What was even better was the union of their families. Their children also exuded this love for one another.

The smiling faces both prior and during the ceremony were proof of the joy that was shared on this special day.

It was an absolute honor to document this beautiful couple’s union and I hope that they will forever cherish these memories.
