While chatting about a collaboration project, my friend Asa and I were trying to figure out how to combine both of our talents to give our clients a unique experience. As many of you may know, I do first birthday sessions over here at BBP that often involve smash cakes. They’re super fun, but we wanted to appeal to the wedding crowd too.
A few years back, I had a Halloween party (I swear this is relevant) and Asa dressed as Marie Antoinette. I was having difficulties sleeping one night (Pinterest to the rescue!) and came across Asa’s Feed. Her main photo was one that I had taken of her in costume at my party. I had an epiphany!
Asa is the head honcho over at Asa’s Cakes and I couldn’t help but think of Marie Antoinette’s famous words, “Let them eat cake”. It was picture perfect in my head, but we needed to put our ideas into reality. We got to work on our game plan starting with a wine and movie night to “research”.
After countless hours of work on Asa’s end, she put together these amazing (and scrumptious) cakes, cookies and other goodies for our styled shoot. I gathered several pieces from local thrift stores and broke out my spray paint and sewing machine to put together this amazing tablescape.
Cute, right?! We also teamed with the amazingly sweet Chloe from Haystack florals and she created those lovely arrangements for our session. Check out her page here.
We had so much fun taking our ideas and turning them in to reality. This venture gave each of us the opportunity to showcase our unique talents.
We are excited to provide our clients with more stylized sessions in the future. Are you in need of one of a kind cakes, cookies or florals? Be sure to give these lovelies a call! As always, I am honored to be considered as your photographic story teller and am currently booking through 2016.
2016 is going to be an amazing year! Let us help you make it a little more beautiful and most importantly… memorable!
